Since 1929, Alpha Nu Omega Chapter has provided service to the Oakland/Berkeley area!  We are the 1st Graduate Chapter chartered in Northern California and the second graduate chapter chartered in the Far Western Region.

Historically, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s eighth International President Ida L. Jackson was a charter member of Alpha Nu Omega Chapter and we are also the home chapter of 16th Far Western and 6th International Regional Director, Norma J. Tucker.

We are an active chapter with currently over 100 members today.  Throughout our history, we have remained relevant and responsive to the changing patterns in society and are dedicated to serving our community through youth programs, college scholarships, as well as health, economic, and social justice initiativesand of course having fun while doing the work!

If you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha that who has relocated to the bay area or are considering reactivating, please join us on the second Saturday of each month (except July and August).  It will be a great opportunity to learn about current programs and activities of the sorority and our chapter.  You can email info@alphanuomega1929.org for more information.

Additionally, to find out more about our activities, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

We are excited to connect with you on the web and to continue our Service throughout the Oakland Bay Area!
